Merry Christmas, All!
As we near the end of what has a relatively strained year for most of the world we stop today. Today, families are spending much needed time together, although most are fewer in number than normal to protect loved ones. The large family Christmas gathering replaced by parents and young children having woken up this morning to see that Santa Claus stopped by during the night to leave gifts beneath the tree. Rather than rushing off to the next get together for lunch, then mid-afternoon, and finally dinner, these families are staying home where parents are watching the joy on their children's faces as they play and play with their new treasures. Other parents have grown children who will be at the dinner table today as they fellowship like old times past.
In many homes there is a father who will read the story of Jesus' birth to his children today, as he does each year, to remind them of the true meaning to our celebration today. Whatever your family does today, give thanks. Give thanks for their health, for their presence whether physical or virtual, for the many blessings that each of you have received and the many still to come. Give thanks to God for sending His son to be born and walk among men that we might, one day, enter His courts with praise.
I am thankful and grateful for each of you today and always. May the blessings of the Lord continue to fall on you and your families as your cup overflows to the world around you.
